House Party Mix

My latest mix is a throwback to the house parties and dorm parties of the late 80's and early 90's. Not like oontz, oontz, oontz "house" parties. I mean like the Kid 'n Play movie, House Party parties. Think Africa medallions, Cross Colours and high top fades. Think Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert at Hillman College. This is the inspiration that I drew from. My memories of that particular piece of Hip Hop culture. The native tongue vibes: Queen Latifah, Jungle Brothers. The New Jack Swing vibe. And, of course, I had to sprinkle some of my own favorites in there: Big Daddy Kane, SOHO (Pal Joey), Biz Markie and the Mary Jane Girls to name a few.
